Aidoc Secures $150 Million Funding to Revolutionize Radiology with AI-Powered Solutions

Israeli clinical AI startup Aidoc announced the successful closure of a $150 million funding round, led by General Catalyst and Square Peg. This recent influx of capital brings the company’s total fundraising to an impressive $370 million. Joining in this investment round are esteemed health systems, including Hartford HealthCare, Mercy, Sutter Health, and WellSpan Health, underlining the growing interest in AI-driven healthcare solutions.

Founded in 2016, Aidoc has been at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence into radiology, addressing one of the most pressing challenges faced by healthcare providers today—managing the increasing complexity of patient care in emergency departments. As CEO Elad Walach articulates, the pressures of high patient volumes, extended wait times, and the delays in test results compel healthcare professionals to make rapid decisions, often with incomplete information. Compounding this issue is the notable shortage of radiologists, exacerbating the demand for efficient and accurate decision-making.

Aidoc’s innovative technology is designed to transform how radiologists operate, allowing for the swift identification of critical findings in medical scans and ensuring timely action on these findings. Walach emphasizes that Aidoc’s primary objective is to improve patient flow, reduce delays, decrease ‘leakage’ of patient information, and ultimately enhance the quality of care delivered in hospitals.

The platform continuously monitors various patient data inputs, ranging from imaging studies to lab results and vital signs. Leveraging advanced AI algorithms, Aidoc efficiently identifies critical indicators, such as signs of stroke, pulmonary embolism, lesions, and fractures. When an indicator is detected, the system proactively alerts the appropriate care teams and initiates the necessary processes for timely interventions.

A standout feature of Aidoc’s solution is its dual AI model, which integrates imaging data with clinical information. This amalgamation creates a comprehensive reasoning engine that provides a layer of intelligence throughout the clinical workflow—from diagnosis to follow-up care. This approach sets Aidoc apart from its competitors, making it an invaluable ally in the evolving radiology landscape.

With more than 150 health systems adopting Aidoc’s platform—including renowned institutions such as Mount Sinai, Yale New Haven Health, Temple Health, and the University of Miami Health System—the impact of this technology is becoming increasingly evident. The return on investment for these health systems has been substantial, demonstrating faster time-to-treatment, reduced lengths of hospital stays, increased throughput, and higher diagnostic yield.
