Well, I wouldn’t blame anyone for thinking that driving an Electric Vehicle (EV) is much more boring when compared to driving one fueled by petrol. The driving experience is very different, and I must admit that the general perception about EV could be much better than this segment really deserves.
We have prepared a list of 5 anticipated new electric sports vehicle models that enthusiasts are looking forward to. Some of them will be available in the next 12-18 months, while the remainder may take a few years to reach the market as batteries and motors improve.
DeLorean Alpha5

The DeLorean Alpha5 is an electric grand tourer with massive gullwing doors, louvered rear glass, an ultra-low Cd value of 0.23, and a minimalist interior. It is 4,995 mm (196.7 in.) long, 2,044 mm (80.5 in.) wide, and 1,370 mm thick (53.9 in.). The EV has a 2,300 mm wheelbase (90.6 in.).
The energy storage capacity of the battery pack will exceed 100 kWh, providing a range of 300 miles. A sprint from 0 to 62 mph will take three seconds, with a peak speed of 155 mph. According to Autocar, the performance benchmarks will be the Mercedes-AMG GT and the higher-end Porsche Taycan.
DeLorean intends to build 9,351 Alpha5s and begin delivery in 2024.
Dodge Electric Muscle Car

The first Dodge electric muscle vehicle will be a two-door coupe and the production version of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept.
Dodge intends to initially sell the first electric muscle vehicle in three power levels, with the top-end model using an 800-volt ‘Banshee’ motor. Through its Direct Connection initiative, the corporation will eventually provide nine power levels. For all-weather capabilities, an AWD drivetrain arrangement will be standard. According to MoparInsiders, the Banshee powerplant will provide about 550 horsepower in the base form and between 1,000 and 1,200 hp in the top-end configuration.
A ‘Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust’ would mimic the exhaust noise of a gas-powered Hellcat model with a speaker-generated exhaust sound that can achieve the same volume level – 126 dB.
Lexus LFA successor

Koji Sato, President of Lexus, revealed the concept electric sports vehicle during Toyota’s BEV strategy announcement on December 14, 2021. The 0-100 km/h sprint time for the elegant and sophisticated electric sports vehicle will be in the low 2-second range. The driving range will be greater than 700 km (435 miles), with Lexus investigating the use of solid-state batteries in the car to ensure safety, longer range, and longevity.
Lexus has stated that the manufacturing of the Electrified Sport concept, which will serve as the LFA replacement, would have various software-controlled technologies.
Maserati GranTurismo Folgore Electric sports car

Maserati’s first electric vehicle is the GranTurismo Folgore. MC20-inspired headlights, 20-inch aero wheels, a tall hood, and huge air intakes in the front recreate the spirit of an Italian sports vehicle.
The GranTurismo Folgore has a tri-motor drivetrain with a rear bias that delivers 560 kW (751 horsepower) and 1,350 Nm (996 lb.-ft.) of torque. The all-electric GranTurismo uses Formula E inverters and a lightweight’multi-material construction’ to boost handling.
The GranTurismo Folgore can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.7 seconds and peak out at 320 km/h (198 mph). The motors are powered by an 83 kWh battery pack, which should provide a WLTP range of more than 450 km (280 miles).
Nissan electric sports car

According to Nissan executives, a battery-powered electric sports vehicle is “on the table.” According to Francois Bailly, Senior Vice President and Chief Planning Officer of Nissan (AMIEO area), the business is contemplating developing an electric GT-R replacement. Top Gear reported on May 5, 2022 that COO Ashwani Gupta claimed that an electric GT-R would arrive one day.
Bailly stated that he would like to see an electric sports vehicle in the lineup, but Nissan needs to reorganize first. Gupta went on to say that the Z and GT-R—dubbed the “beauty and the beast” internally—are the brand’s culture and hence crucial to its identity.
Takao Katagiri, CEO of NISMO, subsequently told Autocar that Nissan will debut “a really interesting vehicle” with a “mix” of hybrid and electric options.
