BMW unveiled their future vision of automobiles at the CES 2023 in Las Vegas. The BMW I Vision Dee (Digital Emotional Experience) is the brand’s future “vision,” built to link emotionally both the car owner and car.
So, how do they intend to achieve that?
Firstly, drivers are greeted with a personalized greeting that incorporates sound effects, graphics components, and lighting. BMW also shared that the I Vision Dee can project an avatar onto the ground. The car owner will be able to select the avatar of his/ her choice, making it doubly sure that everyone knows who the driver is.
BMW claimed that their vision vehicle is also programmed with emotional intelligence and can interact with its surroundings. The car, with its sensor technology, monitors its environment and the car owners, and responds accordingly when they approach. For example, as the driver approaches the driver’s seat, the door will automatically open to greet them.
Second, there is the BMW Mixed Reality Slider, which will operate together with the new head-up display to allow drivers to control how much digital information appears on their windshield. Drivers may pick from five options, including analog, communications system content, driving-related information, augmented reality projection, and even virtual worlds. This is certainly very exciting news especially those who love new experiences.
Last but not least, BMW introduced the second generation of full-color E Ink technology. This technology enables the BMW I Vision Dee’s exterior color to change between 32 colors immediately. The I Vision Dee’s surface has 240 E Ink segments. Each section may be adjusted separately to display a distinct external color.
The BMW Group’s future is electric, circular, and digital. From the preview of this new concept, we can see that The BMW I Vision Dee is dedicated to the “digital” part of this trio and gives a peek of the BMW Group’s digital future.
